Why study theatre, journalism, or digital media production at SAU? It’s simple. You should choose SAU because we care. We care about you as a student; we care about the quality of your education, the quality of our program, and we care about keeping it real. What sets our department apart from other colleges and universities is our hands on approach to teaching. We work closely with our students to make sure they are getting the experiences they want and need. We believe that what you learn in the classroom needs to be practiced in a practical, meaningful way. So when you find yourself writing for the award winning student newspaper, The Bray, putting together The Mulerider, the universities yearbook, staring in, designing, or working on the latest theater production (we produce four plays each year), or shooting and editing video, or creating web content in our new Mac Lab, you’ll know you’re in the right place, getting the experience you need to succeed.
SAU’s Department of Theatre and Mass Communication offers a bachelor of arts degree in theatre, and a bachelor of arts degree in mass communication with an emphasis in either print journalism or digital media production. We also offer minors in theater, print journalism, digital media production and speech.
So if you’re looking to earn a degree that’s backed by tough class work, and practical hands on experience, looking for a place with people that care about you, and care about keeping things real, this is the place for you. Welcome home.
